Greed’s death was like a greek fuckin tragedy… and yet it was necesary for the development of ed’s character if he ever hopes to defeat the other humunculi. I have to say tho…Greed was cool as hell.

omg you guys r right greed is awesome but Ed is better! ewwwww and the one fat guy is NASTY! he eats everything! and does anybody ever wonder if they (Ed, Al, Izumi, and Winre and all the other carachters) can hear the music in the background! and all that time Greed was trying to help them!

He had the ‘breakdown’ because Greed became a good dude and then Ed didn’t want him to die seeing how he wasn’t evil anymore, he told him where Al was, and he told him how to kill the humonkuli(SP?!).

killing some1 isn’t easy. almost any1 would freak at my job… btw I’m an army sniper. this probably will suprise you. 250 people try out for every bootcamp season only around 25 make it. for 100 of them its because they can’t kill in cold blood.

Well every anime (with fights in it) sooner or later has a point where the hero starts to question the morality of one or more unpleasent action he REALLY had to take. So I ask you: why not this one? Just another part of the hard work that goes into being a hero. Besides, Greed’s death made him human somewhat in the end: helped him overcome the cruel, sociopathic nature of a homunculus and helped Ed deal with the fact that he WILL need to kill his homunculus enemies and taught him how to do it.
You gotta love Greed: a stylish villain with a sense of honor.

At first i thought Greed died with a peacefullook on his face but then he goes into that pose awell he turns into ash in the end.

Ed is not to blame for Greed’s death, it was all Dante’s fault, if Dante hadn’t sealed Greed in that circle and exposed him to his remains, there is no way Ed would’ve killed Greed, he would’ve still defeated him, but not kill him, his death isn’t entirely Ed’s fault

Well Greed didnt become good at the end at all, really. He told Ed how to kill all the others because he himself wanted them dead, and as he wasnt really able to do that himself anymore, and he knew that Ed would be capable, he told him how to do it.
What some people dont seem to realise is that there is no perfect devision between good and evil. Even the ‘bad side’ has reason behind their actions, and i think Greed just had his own strong sense of honour. He was defeated, and he didnt particularly hate Ed as an individual
So Ed didnt have a breakdown because miraculously in his last breath Greed became good and attoned for all his sins (and how boring would that have been anyway?), but because Ed plain and simple didnt want to take someones life. You always see that with Ed’s character - he’s always been violently against killing. And its no surprise really, considering what he did and saw when he was really young.
….So yes. That’s my character analysis for today. *cough* I couldnt help myself. Everyone kept bringing it up.
