acutally al is 14. the first few eps were flash backs. the first ep tho, was in the present. if you PAYED ATTENTION you would have noticed that, through out the series, they talk of events from a few years ago when ed was 12 and al was 11, like the incident of the the blue rose woman.

Al is 14. He said so himself just a few episodes ago; in the episode where he got kidnapped. If you payed attention while you watched you would know this.

Al may have been in the world for 14 years but he was transmuted at age 9 (or 8, whatever) and since he is in the armor, he can’t age, so his voice will stay the same as long as he is fixed to the armor.

umm… to everyone asking, Al is 14 and Ed is 15 right now, cuz al is a year younger and they’ve been working with the state alchemists for 4 years, and Ed 1st became a state alchemist at 11-hope that helps.
