it probably translates as sister because the japanese word for sister can also mean close female freind.

Aaaaactuallyyyyy Melissa acts as a older sister-figure for Kurtz and Sousuke, with Commander Kalinin being Sousuke’s sort-of adoptive dad. Sousuke’s a pretty interesting kid, him being an Afghan and all, because in the FMP universe Helmajistan is actually Afghanistan. He also is a shareholder and consultant with different firms that develop weaponry, you learn that in FMP Fumoffu. It’s cool how they met and got together actually =p 5/5 as usual =p
